Nokia Symbian OS, the popular mobile OS is now opensource. Nokia, in a blog post recently announced that they make available for Symbian OS Mobile platform development partners.
Source code / code of the program from Symbian is available at https: / / collab.symbian.nokia.com, a site dedicated to providing tools and services to support development system. There you will find the Symbian source code, tool development platform, documents and other supporting materials. Also Symbian foundation has been replaced by the "Open and Direct Model of Nokia" according to the blog post.
Nokia also stated that:
"As we announced before, Nokia will no longer refer to an official release or 3 ^ ^ Symbian Symbian 4, but will provide ongoing evolution of the platform for partners and customers - including consumers. In line with this approach, we do not give the build software, but offers a tool / device development through this website, and the SDK through Forum Nokia. "
